Stir Up Your Gifts

“Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.”
(2 Timothy 1:6)

Paul is saying, “Don’t you remember, Timothy, that the Lord used me to impart a gift into you? If so, then, what’s wrong? Why aren’t you using it, or worse – why have you stopped using it?”

Just Touch Him

Luke 8:43-48

When Jesus asked who touched me, I believe the woman thought Jesus would be mad with her for touching Him without His permission, and even perhaps because she was unclean and really should not have been touching anyone. But, you know what, I just love Jesus’ response. It’s like He said no worries, I ain’t mad at you; you go, girl. Somebody around here has finally figured it out.  If people were really touching Me we’d see more healing, we’d see more deliverance, we’d see more miracles. O LORD Remember Now

I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. (2 Kings 20:3)

Upon hearing the word of God to prepare his house to die, Hezekiah quickly made a position. He began to put God in remembrance of some of the good things that he had done, some of the faithful duties that he had performed. I envision Hezekiah saying O LORD, remember now God, I was not always messed up. Don’t you remember when I tore down the altars of Baal, and made the people began to worship you again. I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. Continue reading
