Look At Us

Acts 3:1-5

The Bible says that when the lame man saw Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked alms of them. And Peter’s response was “look at us”. Friends, as children of God, as possessors of a life giving Word of hope and truth, we too should have a “look at us” response. You see, some people get so accustomed to the routine that they don’t even pay attention to the people to whom they are dealing with on a daily basis. But if we are walking in the things of God, we should be able to say look at us. If we are modeling godly behavior, we should be able to say look at us. We should be able to say pay close attention; there is something to see here. “Look at us”, we were once in your same shoes. “Look at us”, we were once lame in our thinking and living too. “Look at us”, we are walking and talking miracles that have something for you to consider. We have something for you to see. We should encourage them to get serious, and give this matter your full attention. And the Bible says, “So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.”

What he received was far greater that his expectation of charity. He received a whole new life. Why don’t you give life today by inviting others to take a good look at you and the Hope that dwells in you, even our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?
