Press In!

“On one occasion, while the crowd was pressing in on him to hear the word of God, he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret.” (Luke 5:1)

Our scripture says that the crowd was pressing in on Jesus to hear a word. It must be nice to be in a position where the people are so excited and so hungry to hear a word from the Lord that they just keep coming, trying to get closer and closer. It didn’t say that they were looking for anything else from the Lord, just a word. Continue reading

Don’t Fail to Ask Him

“Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, ‘Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!’” (Mark 10:46-47, NKJV Bible)

We read here that Bartimaeus was one who begged for sustenance, which was normal during that era. If that was what he did, possibly on a regular and daily basis, what should hinder him from begging for one of the most important things of his life? What should hinder him from making sure that the Lord heard him? Likewise, what should hinder you and I from passionately pursuing the Lord? Continue reading

Just Touch Him

Luke 8:43-48

When Jesus asked who touched me, I believe the woman thought Jesus would be mad with her for touching Him without His permission, and even perhaps because she was unclean and really should not have been touching anyone. But, you know what, I just love Jesus’ response. It’s like He said no worries, I ain’t mad at you; you go, girl. Somebody around here has finally figured it out.  If people were really touching Me we’d see more healing, we’d see more deliverance, we’d see more miracles.
